I have been interested in wood working since I made my first table in high school shop. Building custom furniture for my home and restoring antique wood furniture has been a lifelong hobby. I expanded this hobby by purchasing a wood lathe and discovered a new way to create useful and artistic pieces. Green wood turning has introduced me to a wide variety of tree species that you cannot get in a lumber yard. I enjoy learning the characteristics of each of these tree species, how to process the raw wood exposing unique wood grain features and striving to maximize these unique characteristics in each piece I turn. The result is a functional and artistic piece that can be used and enjoyed for many years.
